I had the incredibly good fortune to be invited to perform at the Gouveia ArtRock Festival in Gouveia, Portugal in April, 2010. I spent 2 weeks there and had the time of my life.

What a privilege to be on the same bill as Steve Hackett! You can see the theater in the background.

A very beautiful mountaintop village about 3 hours' drive from Lisbon in Portugal.

Beautiful Portuguese countryside as seen from nearby the theater.

Inside the theater, which had a most excellent Steinway grand piano.

Steve Hackett was the headline act, and naturally the center of attention :)

A very special privilege to meet the phenomenally talented guys from Morglbl! L to R: me, Eduardo Mota, Festival Organizer, Christophe Godin, Aurélien Ouzoulias, Ivan Rougny.

Christophe Godin from Morglbl, without a doubt the most impressive guitarist/showman I've encountered.

Friendly locals invited me out for a spontaneous group dinner.

Noca Ramos approached me after a performance in Gouveia with this image he sketched while I was playing. This became the basis for the wonderful artwork he did for my Handmade book and CD.

After the ArtRock Festival, I stayed on for another week due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland resultingd in cancelled flights. To make use of my time, I recorded a version I did not end up using of my 2010 CD, Genesis On Piano,

Coffee is such a joyous part of life, I photograph the really good ones when I travel. This one was in Gouveia :)

On the way home from Portugal, I spent a day in Paris and had this particularly memorable espresso and croissant, right across the canal from Notre Dame.

And when it's that good, you just have to share :)

I was the opening act for two Three Friends concerts; the reunited version of Gentle Giant. It was a huge privilege to share the stage with these legendary artists.
